Important Rules to Remember:
THE AQUATICS FACILITY IS SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK - EVEN WHEN LIFEGUARDS ARE ON DUTY
No food or drink on the pool deck and no coolers are permitted
If you do not sign your bill, you will be subject to a 20% gratuity fee
Pool Rules Under the direction of the Board of Directors, authorized personnel, including lifeguards, have authority to:
i. Close the pool at any time because of weather conditions (lightning, outside temperature below 50o), safety reasons, disturbances, etc.
ii. Remove any person from the pool area for the following reasons, including but not limited to, improper swimming attire (cut-offs and shorts are prohibited in the pool), reckless play, intoxication, foul language, etc.
a. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK WHEN LIFEGUARD IS NOT ON DUTY.
b. NO LIFEGUARD IS PROVIDED AT THE WADING POOL - Children 6 an under may use the wading pool if supervised by a parent, or responsible person (16 years of age or older).
c. No one under 16 years of age is allowed in the pool area unless accompanied by a parent, or responsible person 16 years of age (with proper paperwork). A swim test may be required.
d. Children wearing exposed diapers must wear protective swimming apparel (swim diapers).
e. Persons having infectious diseases, open sores, bandages, cuts or recent vaccinations will not be permitted in the pool.
f. No gum, candy or chewing tobacco is allowed in the pool at any time.
g. No glass or breakable containers are allowed in the pool or pool area. No outside food or drink in the pool area. Members are responsible for disposing of their own trash when finished using the facility. No beverages or food may be consumed while in the water.
h. Bicycles, tricycles, skateboards, roller and/or inline skates and other non-pool play equipment are not allowed in the swimming pool area.
i. All bicycles, tricycles, skateboards, and/or skates must be parked in or near the bike racks located on the east of the parking lot on south side of the dumpster. No bicycles, tricycles, skateboards, and/or skates are allowed in the breezeway leading to the pool.
j. Strollers and wagons are allowed in the pool area but need to be placed out of the way so as not to hinder others from accessing the pool or furniture around the pool. Lifeguards may request moving such items if they see it to be a hindrance to others.
k. Except for guide dogs, pets are not allowed in the fenced swimming pool area. They are not to be in any part of the common area around the pool, whether leashed or unleashed. The owner will be asked to leave and take his/her pet home. Pets are also not to be left tethered unattended at any time.
l. Horseplay, running, spitting, undue splashing and excessive noise are not allowed. Swimmers may be removed from the pool area at the discretion of the lifeguard for violation of this rule.
m. Please jump in feet first only. No diving.
n. No hanging on the wall under the slide or diving board.
o. One at a time on the slide. Feet first only. Must be able to pass the a swim test.
p. Only one bounce on the diving board, one person on the board at a time. Swimmers must swim to the closet wall on the right after jumping. NO Gainers or backflips. Must be able to pass a swim test.
q. HANGING ON LANE LINES OR DEPTH DIVIDERS is prohibited.
r. The following items are allowed, except when they are deemed to be a danger to swimmers, at the discretion of the lifeguard:
a. Infant boats with parental supervision
b. Little inner-tubes
c. Nerf or inflatable balls
d. Noodles
e. Kick boards
s. Rubber and plastic floats that are NOT allowed may include but not limited:
a. Boats
b. Rafts
c. Big inner-tubes
d. Plastic flotation devices (hard surface)
e. Large devices over 15 inches in size
f. Tennis balls, golf balls, footballs, rocks, etc.
g. Mermaid FinS.
t. Jumping the pool enclosure fence is prohibited and pool use after hours is considered trespassing and violators will be prosecuted.
u. Mount Vernon has a non-smoking policy which prohibits all smoking in any building, on any patio, including the areas immediately adjacent to entrance, and in the pool area or on pool decks. Illegal drugs are also not permitted, as well as the use of marijuana.
v. Members will be responsible for paying the cost of damages (excluding normal wear and tear) they or their guests cause the pool or the pool facility. ALL VANDALISM WILL BE PROSECUTED. Worn or damaged equipment should be brought to the attention of the lifeguard or management company immediately.
w. Loud radios are not allowed.
x. Any swimmer that is dependent upon any flotation device must be in arms reach as well be accompanied (in the water) by a parent or responsible person.
y. Nannies and au pairs are welcome in lieu of parents. If a parent is present, the appropriate guest fee will be applied to the nannie/au pair.
