2013 MVCC JUNIOR PROGRAM
MVCC's Junior Program has earned a fine reputation for building solid and successful young tennis players. We emphasize a sound technical foundation, good sportsmanship and cultivating joy for the life-time sport of tennis. We’re the proud home of many district, state and regional championship teams! Non-members are welcome to participate in programs for a slightly higher fee.

SPECIAL TENNIS EVENTS:
• “Spring Back into Action” Jr. Tournament - Sat, May 11, noon - 5 pm, Matches, prizes. $20 pp
• Quick Start Tennis Festival - May 27th. Free classes. Contact for times. 11 am - noon, Rackets provided, wear tennies
• Babolat/Volkl DEMO Party with Tail fashions - Saturday, June 8th, 3 - 5:30 pm. Fun, food, prizes
• MVCC Teen Mixed Tournament - July 19, 4 - 6 pm and MVCC Jr. Fall Tournament - September 7th, 12:30 - 6 pm

JUNIOR TENNIS GROUPS

PEE WEES
Ages 4 - 6. Little ones are exposed to important skills like hand-eye coordination, athletic balance, teamwork and FUN! We use foam balls, small courts. 19"- 23" rackets available to use or buy in our Pro Shop. Minimum of five students required to hold sessions.Spring Pre-Season One: May 3, 10, 17. Fridays only from 3 - 3:45 pm, $29 tennis mem; $35 non tennis mem
Session II: June 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28. Monday and Friday mornings from 8:15 - 9 am
Session III: July 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26. Monday and Friday mornings from 8:15 - 9 am
Session IV: July 29, Aug 2, 5, 9, 12, 16. Monday and Friday mornings from 8:15 - 9 am
Cost per session for Sessions II, III, IV- $72 tennis mem; $78 non tennis mem. Register for two sessions or more, get $15 off

SPRING JUNIOR BOOT CAMP
Highly recommended! Get ready for the season. For ages 8 - 18 by level.

Week One: May 29, 30, 31 from 3:45 - 5:15 pm
Week Two: June 5, 6, 7 from 2 - 3:30 pm
Cost: one week $66, both weeks: $122

SUNDAY JUNIOR DRILL N’ PLAY!
Every Sunday starting 4/28 until 9/22, 2 pm - 3:30 pm. Skill based work-out and match play. Ages 10 - 16. Intermediate and Advanced. $18 tennis mem; $22. non tennis mem

USTA 10/UNDER & 12/UNDER “PLAY DAYS”
Community invited! Fun, non-elimination, competitive environment for young beginners. Kids experience serving, rallying and scoring on smaller courts with larger balls. Perfect for ages 7 - 10 and 11 - 12. Saturdays: June 1, July 27 and August 31. Times: 1:30 - 3 pm. Cost: $15/per play day. Prizes for all, refreshments included. Join the fun! AFTER SCHOOL - BEG, BEG/INT, INTERMEDIATE
Players with previous lesson experience will go up a level here! We'll work on stroke production and how to play matches successfully. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 3:45 - 5 pm, Ages 8 - 15
Spring Session: Weeks of April 30 - May 3, May 7 - 10, May 14 - 17. Cost for Spring: 4 times/week $149 or 2/week $89. Weather make-ups: May 21, May 22 same times
Fall Session: September 3 - 6, September 10 - 13

AFTER SCHOOL - ADVANCED LEVEL
Players work on advanced and modern techniques; winning strategies; sports psychology; tennis conditioning. Good prep for tournament match play. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 5 - 6:15 pm, Ages 12 and up.
Spring Session: Weeks of April 30 - May 3, May 7 - 10, May 14 - 17. Cost for Spring: 4 times/week $149 or 2/week $89. Weather make-ups (Spring): May 21, May 22

JUNIOR GROUP LESSONS SUMMER
Excellent foundation for beginners and intermediates. Learn stroke technique, scoring, sportsmanship. Give your child a wonderful introduction to the sport of tennis. USTA Quick Start program, courts, rackets and balls. Friday match days will have refreshments, prizes at end. MVCC discounts on rackets apply to all children in program.

Session 1: June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 Match  days: June 20, 21

Times: Ages 7 - 9 and Ages 10 - 12 (split into groups having own tennis Pro) at

TEAM ACE
A popular recreational starter program for young players, ages 6 - 12, for social singles and doubles play and top flight instruction. USTA Quick Start method, shorter courts and low compression balls make it easier and encourage success. In- house tournament at end. Mondays 1 - 2:30 pm. Cost: $98 tennis mem; $119 non tennis mem, per session. Team t-shirt included. Same sessions as Teen Basic Team below.

TEEN BASIC TEAM
Calling all Middle School and High School kids ages 12 - 17. Just getting started? Set your sights on learning the game quickly and having fun. Prepare yourself to play on a team at school. How do we register for programs? 

On-line registration forms for Jr. Tennis Programs available at www.mountvernoncc.com under tennis and specific program. Or email tennispro@mountvernoncc.com with the following: Name, Age, Birthdate, Parent's name and phone, MVCC membership number, which Program and the Dates that you would like.

Or register by phone 303-526-4173 starting May 1.

In case of bad weather: please call Tennis Pro Shop at 303-526-4173 an hour prior to starting times to hear the status of classes. If there's no message, class is still on. Generally, junior make-up classes are done on weekends, often Sunday afternoons.
