Platform Tennis

What is Platform Tennis?
It's the Most Addictive Sport You've Never Heard Of.

Platform Tennis, also referred to as paddle tennis, is an outdoor racquet sport generally played in cool or cold (ok, sometimes really cold) weather. The Court is smaller than a tennis court and is surrounded by tightly strung wire fencing that lets players keep the ball in play after the ball hits off the court and bounces off the screens! Most courts are on a raised platform, allowing for heaters under the court decks to melt the ice, so that we can keep the playing no matter what Mother Nature throws at us!  The game originated in the Northeast and Midwest where it is very popular and continues to grow. Popularity and growth of the sport is just beginning to take hold in Colorado. Newly founded Colorado Platform Tennis Association and Rocky Mountain Paddle leagues are being formed as well as competitive tournaments held in the State. Mount Vernon Canyon Club boasts having two courts out of the approximate 12 courts in the Denver metro area.

Platform tennis is a very social sport, known for camaraderie and good sportsmanship.
Platform tennis is a game of finesse, patience and strategy. It can require speed, power, patience and quick thinking.
It can be highly competitive or just plain social. Warning, it's addictive.

Paddle season is generally from October through the end of March
