Cherie Chao | Pickleball Professional | Instructor for all
levels and abilities from beginners to professional level competition
Cherie comes from a background of many different racquet/paddle sports. She discovered pickleball 10 years ago when her hometown of Arvada put in 24 outdoor courts shortly after having her hip replaced. It seemed like a natural transition from tennis as she could cover the court more easily. Cherie played 5.0 tennis for years and helped take her team to the National finals. She also played competitive badminton (state champion), platform tennis (state champion), racquetball and squash. Pickleball was the perfect sport after playing so many different racquet/paddle sports. She has won numerous pickleball tournaments at the local, state, regional and national levels. She has won gold (5.0 level) at the US Open and twice won gold at Nationals. She loves introducing the sport to others and watching her students have fun and improve their skills and strategy. She witnesses everyday how pickleball changes lives. She is sponsored by Selkirk, a leading pickleball equipment company. Cherie lives with her husband, Ken, in Arvada. They have 2 grown daughters and 2 adorable grandchildren. They enjoy playing and teaching on their 2 home pickleball courts.
