Prerequisites |
Choose this level if:
- Between the ages of 2 and 4 years old
- Able to leave their parents without crying or clinging
- Ready to participate in a group
- Fearful of swimming lessons and going underwater

Choose this level if:
- Aged 2.5 years +, most kids will be 3-7
- A beginner but comfortable in the water
- Can demonstrate skills from Guppies

Choose this level if:
- Aged 3+, most kids will be 4-8
- Able to float on front and back
- Able to put head underwater repeatedly without complaint

Choose this level if:
- Aged 5+, most kids in this level will be 6-9
- Swimmer can do the front crawl but not turn their head to the side to breathe
- Can do side breaths but cannot yet swim the entire length of the pool comfortably

Choose this level if:
- Aged 6+, most kids in this level will be 7-11
- Can demonstrate the skills from level 3

- Streamline 3 body lengths on both front and back (back can be in soldier)
- Streamline and then independent freestyle (4 scoops)
- Streamline and then independent backstroke (8 scoops)
- Streamline and then independent elementary back (4 strokes)
- Jumps from side, recover, use kicks or arms to move to wall and get out of pool
- Introduction to fly kick (dolphin)
- Jump in without goggles and swim to wall

- Freestyle the length of the pool with breathing
- Backstroke the length of the pool
- Elementary backstroke
- Kneeling dives
- Demonstrate “11, Y, Eat, and Reach” (breaststroke arms)
- Demonstrate breaststroke kick on edge
- Demonstrate butterfly arms
- Tread water for 1 minute

- Swim 2 laps of the pool in freestyle with bilateral breaths
- Back crawl 2 laps of the pool with body in soldier
- 1 lap breaststroke
- Streamline + 2 strokes of fly w/breath on #2
- Streamline + 8 strokes sidestroke
- Flip turn
- Open turn
- Standing dives
