REQUIREMENTS
  
Current lifeguard certification through the 2023 season including CPR. Previous lifeguard experience.
Age requirement: 16 years old minimum.
Must be available to work holidays especially the 4th of July. 
The pool is open 7 days a week. Shifts may include weekends, mornings, mid-day and/or evenings. Previous employment at Mount Vernon is preferred.  
  
POOL GUIDELINES
  
Swim Regulations: Individuals that wish to swim in water more than chest deep must be able to pass the swim test. The swim test consists of the following: swim the length of the pool continuously and tread water for one minute. Once the swim test is passed, your name will be added to a list so that you can check in to obtain your wrist band for each visit. A parent or guardian must be within arms reach in the water of those not able to pass the swim test. No non-swimmers in the deep end.
  
Pool Closures: Pool is closed for 30 minutes after every lightning strike within 10 miles/audible claps of thunder. Air temperature for pool closure is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  
Lap Lane Policy: At least two lap lanes will be open daily during Open Swim. Please swim for 45 minutes only if someone is waiting for your lane. You may swim as long as long as you like provided no one is waiting for the lane. Please be considerate and aware of others that may be waiting for a lane.
   During Open Swim, adults have priority lap lane use. Children under 18 may use the lap lanes only if they are swimming laps and there are no adults who wish to use the lap lanes.  
  
Dress Code: Please dress appropriately in our family oriented pool area.
   
Aqua Aerobics: Complimentary and open to Aquatics and Sports Members.
